  • Breckin / Biography
  • Breckin Meyer was born on May 7, 1974 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was raised in Los Angeles, where he went to elementary school with Drew Barrymore and to high school with Alicia Silverstone and Branden Williams.

It was Drew Barrymore who introduced Breckin to her agent. He started off doing commercials and TV, before making his big screen debut in 1991 with Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.

Breckin is probably best known for his role as Travis Birkenstock in the hit comedy Clueless, which also starred other hot young talent like Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Donald Faison and Brittany Murphy.

After that, roles in movies like The Craft and Prefontaine followed. In 1998, he starred in the indie pic Dancer, Texas Pop. 81 with Ethan Embry and Peter Facinelli. Both actors would later star in Can't Hardly Wait, a comedy which was co-written and directed by Deborah Kaplan, Breckin's wife. Breckin appeared in an uncredited cameo as the lead singer of the band at the party.

In 1998, he also appeared in 54 with Ryan Phillippe who is one of Breckin's best friends in real life. Breckin played Salma Hayek's husband. He followed that movie up with the critically acclaimed Go, which was directed by Doug Liman and featured an ensemble cast that included Sarah Polley, Katie Holmes and Timothy Olyphant.

Breckin scored a big hit in 2000 with the comedy Road Trip alongside Seann William Scott and Amy Smart. The following year, he made cameo appearance in his wife's latest film Josie & the Pussycats.

He was later reunited with Amy Smart in Rat Race, and he appeared as Meg Ryan's brother in Kate & Leopold.

Breckin was most recently seen as Jon in Garfield. Next up is Herbie: Fully Loaded with Lindsay Lohan.
