Watch with Kristin Watch with Kristin, May 9, 2003 by Kristin My Job Doesn't Suck: Nothing like a hot tropical night in Hawaii with Goran Visnjic and Noah Wyle of ER to make you want to chain yourself to your desk to ensure everlasting job security. I'm close to doing so after last week's set visit to Oahu, Hawaii, where I interviewed Noah and Goran (otherwise known as Carter and Kovac--or hubba and hubba, respectively) about the season finale, which airs this Thursday on NBC. You can see the set visit for yourself this week on E! News Live, thanks to two different segments airing here on E! on Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. In the meantime, a few things you should know: • Keep Smelling Salts on Standby: And not just because Goran and Noah will be hot and sweaty. The episode, in which Carter and Kovac go on an aid mission to two warring tribes in the "Congo" (really Hawaii), is not for the faint-hearted. The intense setting includes gunfire, screaming children, hitmen, explosions, amputations...and one scaredy-cat TV diva in the wings. • Luka Will be Redeemed, But Abby Might Not: "After [Africa]," says Visnjic, "Luka will be more connected to himself, happier, nicer." While Wyle has this to say about his onscreen girl: "It's a big load. Alcoholic schizophrenic mother, schizophrenic brother, crazy ex-husband, Croatian ex-boyfriend. Carter's been one stoic guy to be able to withstand all that." • They Aren't Going Anywhere: Says Wyle: "I'm extremely committed to the show. I'm not ready to go." And Visnjic: "I hope the show will stay on top, and as long as it's a fun ride, I'll be here."
• It's Good to Be Spaghetti: When asked if it's true they're casting
a new love interest for him, Wyle replied: "That's a possibility. I
think she may be introduced in this two-part episode we're doing.
Like anything, it's sort of a spaghetti test. You throw it against
the wall--if it sticks, you eat it."
