But even though Dr. Kovach on "ER" is a troubled guy, Goran Visnjic, who plays him, says he's not a lost cause. He says he'll be shaken out of his own emotional trouble by a radical change in scenery. Tonight's episode of "ER," and the start of next season, take place in the Congo, in the middle of a civil war. Visnjic says "we're going to finally see some kind of resolution when he's going to do some work with Doctors Without Borders." Visnjic says there's a reason why Kovach wanted to go work with the organization in the Congo. "He thinks if he goes there and works in much much worse conditions than here, and if he can really make a difference there and to do something which is going to be really even dangerous, he's going to feel much better about himself and I hope he's going to pull himself back on a good track again," Visnjic told AP Radio.
