Paul Rudd (news) has committed to star and Anna Friel (news) is in final negotiations to join him in the dark comedy "Cordless," the directing debut of screenwriter Oren Moverman, scheduled to shoot late this summer in New York.

Rudd and Friel will play a young couple struggling to conceive a child in a Manhattan apartment building in which the concept of neighborly love veers toward voyeurism.

Previously announced cast includes Steve Buscemi (news), Malcolm McDowell (news), Fisher Stevens (news) and Michael Buscemi. Pic will be produced by Abraham Geisness and Peter Bisanz of 33 Prods. and Alisa Volkman of Nerve Prods.
