b>Marc Gracie director, Take Away
The key female role of Sonja in Take Away was quite difficult to cast. I needed a young woman who could hold her own with two strong male leads in Vince Colosimo and Stephen Curry; an actress, who could portray a feminine strength, yet is able to handle the comedic requirements of the role. I had seen most of Rose’s work and what stood out to me was the left-field quality she has. There is no doubt that the camera loves her, but it was that quirky quality I was really interested in. From there it was quite easy. We spoke a couple of times. She liked the script and I offered her the role and lucky for me she accepted. I am sure she was very nervous at the first cast reading. She had not really done an out-and-out comedy like Take Away before. But she was perfect – strong, sexy, smart and funny all at the same time. I have also come to realise one of Rose’s greatest screen qualities is that even though she is stunning on camera, it does not translate to being unobtainable. Despite her beauty she is still very easy to relate to, especially for other women. Thus you get this amazing mixture of strength and beauty. But she is still real enough for the audience to be allowed into her character’s inner life.

Paul Goldman director, The Night We Called It a Day
There are the obvious things about Rose, which are that she’s beautiful and refreshing. Rose is just so sweet, but I think there’s another side to her, a darker side – and I don’t mean trouble. Rose is intelligent and she’s a great mimic. She’s very funny and really down to earth, really self-depreciating. But underneath all that…When Rose is doing nothing on screen she’s compelling and that’s a rare quality. She’s a fine actress – she’s certainly a better actress than she thinks she is. What I’m really looking forward to, should she make the choice to really stretch herself in years to come, is that we’ll see someone really interesting, someone even more compelling. We had a bet going on set that we could get a bad angle on her, but we couldn’t…We got one bad shot of her and I’m not telling anyone which one it is! I think that what we’re responding to is that there’s something going on behind there. This kind of pop-psychologising about actors is really dangerous stuff, but Rose is complex and complicated, and that’s what we respond to.

Gregor Jordan director, Two Hands
She’s got a very unique quality. She’s amazing looking, obviously, and she can be bubbly and bright but she has a stillness about her, a sort of otherworldly quality. At the same time she’s a really good actress; she can really act. She’s good with accents and she has a whole variety of characters…And she’s funny.

Tony McNamara writer/director, The Rage In Placid Lake
What is it about Rose that makes her special? Her feet.
No, she’s brilliant., she’s gorgeous and she is a really good actress. She is going to be a great comedienne. You know she is going to be a star. But I like the ‘feet’ quote better.
